Diet & Exercise
At PHB we believe that diet & exercise should go hand in hand. The main principle behind weight loss is to burn more calories than you intake. As a result of this your body will resort to stored energy reserves for energy. Aerobic exercise, which raises your heart rate increases the amount of calories you burn.

Examples of aerobic exercise include walking, jogging, swimming, cycling. See charts for other aerobic activities and calories burnt per session.

No matter which diet you are on it is important to balance your calorie intake with calorie burning (exercise). If you have any serious medical risks by undertaking a diet or exercise plan you should talk to your doctor. Everyone is different and you may need to tailor a programme to suit your individual needs.

Weight Loss Exercise - Ways to burn 500 calories:

1. Quick walking for about an hour.

2. Jog for 40 mins.

3. Run for 25 minutes.

4. Ride a push bike at 10 mph for a little under an hour.

5. Play tennis for 55 minutes.

6. Play golf (walking) for an hour and 15 minutes.

7. Play a game of touch (American) football for 45 minutes.

8. Play basketball for an hour.
